Good Insight Welcomes New Talent Acquisition Specialist

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of the Good Insight team, Kessa R. Thompson.

As Talent Acquisition Specialist, Kessa works with our clients to design comprehensive recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of talented applicants to each search for senior leaders. She identifies prospective candidates, conducts applicant screening, and prepares finalists for interviews with search committees.

“I am deeply passionate about the connection aspect of talent acquisition. In this role, I will help our clients bring talented leaders into their organizations, and at the same time provide candidates advantageous opportunities. Joining Good Insight allows me to continue to add value while making an impact by connecting good causes to great leaders.”

With 20 years in recruiting, talent acquisition, and human resources, Kessa brings a valued skill set to the Good Insight team. She was most recently the Senior Director of Operations with United Community Supports of Maryland, where she hired and managed companions for individuals living with disabilities. She was also the National Director of Operations for Phalen Leadership Academies, a national charter school organization. Kessa’s recent career also includes legal recruiting with Holland & Knight and Kirkland & Ellis. Kessa earned a BS in Microbiology from Mississippi University for Women and a MSA in Human Resources Management from Trinity Washington University. She is a member of the Society of Human Resource Management.

Regarding the new hire, Good Insight Founder and CEO, Carlyn Madden, said,

“At a time where providing people with meaningful job opportunities could not be more important, I am thrilled that Kessa will be joining the Good Insight team. With her background in recruiting and human resources management, she brings an important perspective and skill set to our work finding highly qualified diverse candidates to accelerate social change in our communities.”

Kessa began at Good Insight in early December. We asked Kessa to share some advice for nonprofit professionals looking for their next leadership opportunity:

“Although this has been a challenging time for any professional to advance their career, I have seen many take advantage of opportunities to brush up on skills and/or learn a new skill. My advice is to continue to learn no matter what stage of your career you are in, or the state of the world. When you learn continuously, you gain more skills and become flexible and adaptable in your career path. Additionally, possessing a willingness to learn is a highly valued attribute in today’s workforce.”

Please join us in welcoming Kessa!
