Carpenter’s Shelter names Deputy Director
Good Insight is thrilled to share that our client, Carpenter’s Shelter, announced Trinette Hawkins-Coleman as the organization’s next Deputy Director. In this senior management role, Hawkins-Coleman will ensure high-quality programming and operational excellence at Carpenter’s Shelter, which now operates two 64-bed shelters both at The Hoffman Center and Alexandria Community Shelter.

“I am excited to join Carpenter’s Shelter as the new Deputy Director and contribute to the incredible work being done to support individuals and families experiencing homelessness.” said Hawkins-Coleman.
Hawkins-Coleman brings decades of experience and knowledge in program management, policy development, grant reporting and strategic communications. Most recently, Hawkins Coleman served as the Chief of Staff at Collaborative Solutions for Communities and the Director of Day Rehabilitation Program at Life Enhancement Services in Washington, D.C. Hawkins-Coleman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and is also a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW).
Hawkins-Coleman was selected following a search in partnership with Good Insight. He began his new role in June 2025.After a thorough search process led by Good Insight, Hawkins-Coleman was the clear choice to advance the mission of Carpenter’s Shelter.
